I believe most packages tell you to defrost a little bit of food in a cup of water (from you tank). And then giving it to your fish.

some ppl rinse it under the tap to defrost. But this may be washing nutrients down the sink. I put on a glove and hold it in my tank and some melts away.

I also do the "in a cup" method. Defrost a bit in a cup with some tank water.

Hope they enjoy the meal regardless of your chef expertise and preparation technique.

Defrost it in a cup of tank water & then pour the food in the tank. I think it's better to defrost the food.

Just think of the brain freezes the poor little fishies will have otherwise . The only frozen food I use is peas...if I'm cold I pop them in the microwave for a few seconds otherwise I just warm them between my fingers, then pop them in the tank.

^_^

I tend to do a bit of both, defrost using tank water and leaving a small lump that when addd to the tank distracts the top feeders alowing the other worms to sink for my clowns.

Gibson SG you know you want one!!

I defrost in a seperate cup filled with tank water, then filter the food from the water......discard the water and feed the food.

the Gel binders used to hold the food together introduce alot of unwanted/un-needed proteins, phosphates into the water.

I just put it in frozen and they still go after it. I guess I just have greedy little piggies in my tank, they'll go for anything..

I always defrost it in a cup of tank water and them feed via a pipette. That way you can control the amount given each time and train the fish to feed from you personally whilst you check the stock condition.
