Hi there - one of my Amano/Yamato shrimp has eggs! Oh boy. I've been reading about how to raise the young (brackish water, etc...) but I'm still pretty new to this highly addictive hobby.

Does anyone out there have any experience with this? Any advice/tips will be appreciated!

I have a new 10 gal tank which I've been setting up over the last few weeks(just for freshwater fish; before my shrimp had her eggs), so I have the space to do this, luckily.

Thanks!

What type of filter are you running on the tank?

It's a Penguin Mini with a bio-wheel.

Oh, and I just set up a sponge to put over the intake, in case that was why you were asking...
I just read about that on another thread.
Thanks!

This is a very informative site about breeding Amano shrimp: http://mikes-machine.mine.nu/breeding_yamato.htm
Good luck, you´ll need it!

Good luck with the hatching, you are lucky. I'm not even sure if any of my Amano's are female. I'd love to get some Cherry Red shrimp too.

The Amazon Nut...
