Can you provide an image? Under what heading was it sold? As to identification, it would be worth your while to peruse the 'Garnelen' (shrimp) and 'Großarmgarnelen' (large-arm shrimp) segments of http://www.wirbellose.de/arten.html.

That site has alot of links For commonly sold shrimp I usually refer to [link=http://azgardens.com/shrimpfactory.php]http://azgardens.com/shrimpfactory.php" style="COLOR: #C000C0[/link],
[link=http://www.fishpondinfo.com/shrimp2.htm]http://www.fishpondinfo.com/shrimp2.htm" style="COLOR: #C000C0[/link], and [link=http://www.aquatic-store.com/index.html?target=dept_307.html&lang=en-us]http://www.aquatic-store.com/index.html?target=dept_307.html&lang=en-us" style="COLOR: #C000C0[/link]. While the last 2 aren't always 100% accurate they usually give me enough info to do a google search for the rest. If I can identify at least the common name on a site with no other good info then I can do a google search to come up with the scientific name and go straight to it on the more in depth sites that would require clicking on a dozen links or so to identify my fish or invert.
