Apple Snail compatable with Jewel? | |
kmpaton Hobbyist Posts: 91 Kudos: 75 Votes: 36 Registered: 26-Feb-2005 | Would an Apple or mystery snail fare well with my Jewel Cichlid? Im looking for something that will keep the planaria down. |

I've heard guppies like to eat planeria. But, your best bet is to clean your gravel really well and reduce the amount you're feeding. Last edited by Georgia at 15-Apr-2005 10:35 |

Planaria will multiply so long as it has a food source and you leave just a few behind. The snail won't keep up with that aside from the fact all but the smallest cichlid is definitely capable of killing off a snail in no time. Most fish especially labyrinth fish will eat a little planaria but they won't get rid of it. Only improved water quality will. |
