Would an Apple or mystery snail fare well with my Jewel Cichlid?

Im looking for something that will keep the planaria down.

no, the jewel will most likely eat the snails antennae thinking they are worms.

I don't believe a cichlid capable of veritably dismantling substantially larger crayfish to be compatible with any fair-sized snails (operculum or otherwise).

Snails don't eat planeria, if that's kinda what you're thinking. But the jewel would eat the snail.

I've heard guppies like to eat planeria. But, your best bet is to clean your gravel really well and reduce the amount you're feeding.

Applesnails will eat planaria but they won't eliminate it or it's cause. Planaria will multiply so long as it has a food source and you leave just a few behind. The snail won't keep up with that aside from the fact all but the smallest cichlid is definitely capable of killing off a snail in no time. Most fish especially labyrinth fish will eat a little planaria but they won't get rid of it. Only improved water quality will.
