	Are Apple Snails Effective Algae Eaters?

I still see algae in one of my tanks that has nothing BUT apple snails ( mystery snails to be exact). That's my experience with them anyway, maybe other people have had better luck.

moondog Moderator The Hobnob-lin Posts: 2676 Kudos: 1038 Votes: 4366 Registered: 30-Sep-2002	actually, apple snails are not as prolific as other snails, IME. not like the pond snails or even malaysian trumpet snails. i've had some that will eat the algae for lack of better food, but i've had others which have completely ignored the algae. it all depends on the individual snails.
