houston Fish Guru You want what when? Yes, they do a little bit on cleaning up the tank, how much I never could find out my fishies always thought of them as snack food Get some but if they get eaten don't be too upset:%) heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | They also don't take up the tank space or add to a biofilter as much as keeping a group of cory, loaches, or a pleco. A good inexpensive, low maintenance, clean up crew and they are interesting watch. So long as something doesn't doesn't to taste them. |

hca Fish Addict Posts: 783 Kudos: 434 Votes: 211 Registered: 06-Mar-2004 | Ive got them in a 10 gal with a betta, pr of cherry barbs, and trio of wild guppies- everyone leaves them alone, but the betta is super passive. Its my kids tank, they like to watch them, when they eat you can see the food go in to their tummies. |

hca Fish Addict Posts: 783 Kudos: 434 Votes: 211 Registered: 06-Mar-2004 | they eat just about anything- left over fish food that the fish havent gotten to or didnt see, bits of decaying plant matter already in the tank, a tiny bit of algea if its there. You really dont need special food for them, they will eat the left overs, just make sure there is a tiny bit of something in there for them. |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | Usually I don't feed the shrimp specifically. They are there to clean up the excess food my other fish don't get. I feed either spirulina pellets, shrimp pellets, and algae wafers every night for the plecos as well as a variety of foods in the morning. The shrimp mostly make off with bits and pieces of anything while the other fish are arguing. Occasionally I throw in crab and lobster bites which they love but the snails get to alot of the food first. |
