Bicolour Crays? | |

I *think* they were either c. destructor or c. albidus, but maybe not. My ID skills are somewhat lacking since I've only ever seen 5 species in the flesh. Anyway, a few were very dramatically coloured. One looked like is was 2 halves of two separate crays glued together, the front was black and the rear was pink/tan. They were, to use a fish term, marbled. I've never seen it before, and I'm curious, do you think it would last through a moult or do you think it is likely to be environmental? I'm fascinated. I'm wondering if perhaps this colour is a result of hybridsation, as the claws on a few looked the wrong shape for the species that they were. They are only $9, so I'm thinking I might get a pair to watch. |

I hadn't a hope of sexing them, the woman was in a rush and the colour was spread in such a way that I could hardly see anything. I *think* they are boys. Currently they are in some pots in my loungeroom tank. |
