I have a Blue Crayfish in a 10 gallon alone. He is fed shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and occaisonally a healthy feeder (guppy). The guppies never last more than a week, and seem to be the only excitement for him. Sometimes I'll move around the deco in his tank, and then for the next few days he will be seen moving around exploring this "new" tank, then he just stays in his cave (same cave I leave there all the time). I can only coax him out with food. When he is exploring, he will chase me thru the glass, but once he's done exploring he won't come out to see me anymore lol. So I was thinking adding some snails for him to chase around?

they won't even last as long as the guppies

Try mosquitofish, or a lot of blackworms that can live in the gravel.

Also, try a marble, or some vegetable, or a fishing float for him to knock around
