Is it good to add some egg shells in a tank with Snails, so i'll add some Calcium that the Snails need?.

If your water is low in calcium(low kh and gh) then adding egg shell can work. It's also somewhat messy if you don't clean them up right and I think most people were baking them in the oven for a few minutes as well. Cuttle bone for birds and limestone rock also help but can raise your ph. Kent's liquid calcium works great and is 1 calcium product that won't mess with your kh and ph but instead adds calcium in the form measured by gh tests. Just depends how low in calcium your water is and how much money you want to spend to add calcium versus how messy and complicated or simple you want it. Kent liquid calcium will be the easiest and least messy but the highest cost. Egg shells have the highest chance for making a mess but are probably free provided you eat eggs on occasion.

you can also add baking soda or crushed coral, but they will cause a small ph fluctuation.

I am having a tank with only Snails, so i need to higher the Calcium & the ph. I am using some Limestone at the moment & as sham suggested, i will continue using it.

I will also try Baking Soda & keep away from egg shells, as they will pollute the water most.

Thanks alot for your reply's & best regards.

I used to use cuttlebone for a lot of terrestrial species, presumably its just as good for aquatic snails, but youd have to weigh it down. Crushed oystershell is probably good too, loads of koi stockists have it.

Yes, Cuttlebone is also used in Malta, so i'll go for some Limestone & Cuttlebone, to raise the ph & add Calcium.
