But, however there are a few things I wantd to know. 1. Is it possible to keep these in my tank with the current fish 4Tiger Barbs, 2 Boesmani Rainbow and 2 Blood Parrot (still small 2 1/2 inch both)?? 2. I don’t have any plants so would keeping them be better suited to a planted tank or is it still possible to keep them in this condition. 3. Are they more suited to brackish or to freshwater? I’ve read a few places that they are kept mostly in brackish tanks. 4. Has anyone attempted to breed them? 5. Any1 got good links for info on them? I’m relatively new to the hobby. ![]() ![]() ---------- Nab92 |

The problem is is the schooling just doesnot happen with so little fish. Dump the tigers and the rainbows and the parrots for that matter until you get a bigger tank. Get some tetras, some cories and then some amano shrimp. good luck with your tank |

At worst, having plenty of plastic plants for them to pore over will work. 3. Most people keep them in fresh because they're mostly kept in heavily planted tanks, but breeding them and raising the fry requires brackish. 4. Yes, but it's not exactly easy. Cherry Reds, OTOH, are quite easy and arguably a better algae eater. 5. A google search would be more helpful than I. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
