About how many could I keep in my 29? It currently contains 7 White Clouds, 2 small dojo loaches, 2 mollies, and ample hiding places (cave, driftwood, plants), and most of all, lots of food particles to help clean up. Thanks for any help.

as far as i know ghost shrimp have a negligable bio-load, so you could add quite a few without fear of overstocking.

Yeah... pretty much as many as you'd like. Even the fish you have will gobble the excess up

i had a 5g tank set up to breed snails for my puffers and it was always neglected but i went ahead and made it planted over the weekend...now i have the snails in there, plus i bought $3 worth of ghost shrimp (at about $.15 a piece) and put them in there...there's about 25 in there right now with the snails and 2 ADFs...i think u really could get away with as much as u want pretty much in your tank...make sure it's covered pretty well though b/c when i put some in my 55g, a couple decided to commit suicide and jump out from the back...the only part not covered was where the filter spray bar for my cannister went into the tank

I asked a reputable fish store about ghost shrimp and was told that they will only survive in the long-term if kept in brackish water. Otherwise, they are meant simply as food.

And yes, these and all other shrimp are quite fond of meeting untimely deaths on the floor.

I've read that there are two types, freshwater and marine. LiveAquaria had both types last I checked. I saw a picture of a obviously freshwater pond and the caption said this one guy got his ghost shrimp from their. Oh well, I planned on feeding them to my loaches when they [the loaches] get to full size.

im surprised you need something to clean up with the dojos. mine is the best cleaner upper ive ever seen. he eats whatever he can, then sifts and digs everywhere getting evry last particle of food he can find.

Yeah, thing is, my dojos only go to the bottom to sleep in their cave at night or take a breather on the driftwood. 90% of the time they're swimming up and down the length of the tank, ot bending backwards to grab the flakes at the top while my mollies gobble up the algae discs at the bottom.

Seriously, they're always moving and playing tag. Sometimes they swim together on the side walls so it looks like there's for of them doing some synchronized swimming. Sometimes, though, they will go to the bottom to eat bits of food. But only like 10 minutes out of every hour.

Be careful with loaches. I'm not sure about dojos specifically, but I've read most loaches like to eat shrimp - baby shrimp and freshly molted adults.
