My bamboo shrimp recently shed his shell, and this time, I noticed that afterward, he had a rather large gaping hole in his newly formed shell around the head area, behind his eyes. So, after much thought, I have come up with three possibilites regarding the origins of this wound: A snail crawled over him after shedding and bit off a chunk of his weakend shell. Corrosive bateria/chemicals in the water. He ran into something sharp. What ultimately concerns me is whether he'll be okay. He seems as lively as always, and is definitely getting enough food. He lives in a tank with a newborn female betta, 3 WCMMs (haven't moved them after cycling yet), and two mystery snails in a well filtered ten gallon.
