crush them on the glass, the fish will eat them, just dont cut your fingers on their sharp shells.

well, if you know anyone who keeps clown loaches, pufferfish, yoyo loaches, or really mean cichlids you can probably get rid of those snails very quickly. otherwise you're going to have to find a way to keep them out of your tank, and just cause you think you got them all now doesn't mean you actually did. sorry, but i think crushing sounds like a very good alternative - anything that can reproduce like that has to have some major predators in the food chain (and we are the supreme predator) - i don't think they'll become extinct as a species because of your actions, especially if they are pond snails. apologies to any buddhists in the room.

I`ve been catching them and putting them in a large fish bowl with nothing but a fake plant in it. I havent seen any in my tank lately and I have guppies so I dont think getting a loach would be a very good idea. What I really ment is what should I do with them after I catch them all? Smashing them too sounds cruel.
I wouldnt mind feeding them to soe kind of fish but I dont have anymore tanks and my mom said the last tank we bought was going to be it and no more fish!

i put some pennies in my filter and now i have one snail left (don't know where he came from really ). if you really want to be rid of snails once and for all i would recommend this. make sure to use pennies made before 1982, because after 1982 they are only copper plated and not 100% copper.

Welcome to the wonderful world of snails!!

Like Phone'sMate said, clown loaches are good to eat snails. If you don't have room for them try dwarf loaches or I've even heard of yoyos eating snails. Those two loaches don't need near the room as clowns and aren't so as expensive.

Good luck.

My Yoyo Loaches would love your snails. Get some Yoyo's & they'll free you with the problem.

If you don't do nothing, by your next post, you'll have 2000.

What size tank do you have? Clown Loaches are good snail eaters but they need a large tank because they grow to be large. I believe there are a few other loach species that eat snails too and don't necessarily need as much space (I am not sure of what they are) Good luck!

P.S. What region of the country are you in?
