I was up late one night and decided to turn on the light in the room with my 125g. I looked at the tank and saw a bunch of what looked like pebbles that appeared out of nowhere. I looked closer and the tank was covered with MTS. Everywhere I looked there was snails. I put a couple in a few months ago and never thought anything happened with them. I am using sand, so is this a good thing. I think that they turn over the sand but Im not sure.

they are a good think to have as they dig in the substrate during the day and this helps prevent areas of dead substrate where all bad bacteria grow. very techincal

i'm getting some for my new planted tank once setup.

They will turn the Sand & so it doesn't compact. They will also multiply like crazy if you overfeed.

I once had these. Boy did they multiply.

When I finally decided to get rid of them all, I removed over a thousand of the critters. That in a 24 inch aquarium.

I'm sure my fellow aquarists in the locality who kept Puffer Fishes were duly grateful for the extra food
