Mystery Snails & Apple Snails.. Same?? | |
zookeper Hobbyist Posts: 106 Kudos: 62 Votes: 6 Registered: 19-Apr-2007 | I wanted to get a couple apple snails but all the sites I go to say they are no longer legal to sell or whatever. I then see alot of ads on various sites for Mystery Snails and they look at awful lot like Apple snails. Are these the same and now just called Mystery Snails? I also saw some HUGE snails called Trapdoor snails. Are these ok to have? Thanks |

One species, the Cana Apple Snail, the largest variety reaching softball size is no longer legal to sell in many areas, however the regular Bridgessi snails should be available. Japanese Trapdoor snails are a related species I believe, but I dont know much about them. All Apple snails have a "trap door" so to speak.
