Would the crabs mess with some kinds of shrimp if I placed them together? Thanks for any help. I've got a 20gal sitting empty and would like to make a tank that has its central focus on invertebrates. ![]() O Tempora O Mores |

The tank is set up so that they can have some territory to defend if they so desire. There are no plants in there now, but I have a tank with nothing but plants in it so I can add some clippings if it turns out the tank would look better with some greenery. I have some Caridina japonica shrimp in a planted thirty gallon tall and I'd like to have some in with the crabs. The shrimp are suprisingly fast and can carry a whole shrimp pellet all the way to the top of the tank if they want. I'm not sure the crabs could catch the shrimp. I have a few places in the 20 where the crabs are not going to be able to get to. There is an old, disassembled, clay fountain thingy in the tank. A couple of the pieces appear to be impossible for a crablike creature to gain any purchase on and too tall, I hope, for them to swim up to. O Tempora O Mores |
