I kno MTS are livebearing, but do they need another snail to fertilize them? In other words, which snails are asexual? |

Most of these snails lay eggs above the water line so even if you have 2 just scrape the eggs off. There is also the giant ramshorn which is an applesnail and needs 2 snails to reproduce but lays it's eggs underwater. Also known as Marisas. You might get eggs from a female applesnail but without a male they won't hatch so remove them before they rot. If your water is all the way to the top even with a male and female you probably won't get any eggs(except marisas). The small ramshorns(non applesnails) and various pest snails lay their eggs underwater and 1 can equal 100 quite quickly. |
