You can probably try it without actually doing them any harm. If they don't agree with the amount of salt they just won't come out of their shells. If after a few days they are still closed up then remove them and they should start moving around as soon as they are put back in water they like. They can sometimes survive weeks closed up in their shell until things are to their liking. I don't think mollies really need salt though. I wouldn't be adding any unless you got your mollies from someone that breeds them in brackish-saltwater conditions. Most haven't seen salt in generations and do fine in complete freshwater. |
