I found my snail today shredded in chunks around the intake and plants. The shell was a few inches away completly empty. Im not sure what happened this is my second death in the last few days (first was a Flagfish Jordanella floridae). heres my tank info I need to test more but my old test kit is bad and I only have Ph and nitrAte now.

NitrAte= 7 ppm
NitrIte= 0
Ammonia= 0
Will get Ph shortly

2 Cherry Barbs(1 Female, 1 Male)/Puntius titteya

1 Giant Ramshorn snail/Marisa cornuarietis (Dead)
FEEDING
1x daily Nutrafin Max Complete Flake Food
Filter: Millenium 1000 HOB
Heater: Radiant (I think 50 watts)
Water changes once per week
De-Clorinater:Aqua Plus

Could this be cherry barb breeding agression as the pair in the tank may have spawned recently, they showed all the behavior but I never saw any eggs.
Snail was large (2 inches) and its been about a year since I purschased it.
