If I ever want to put Amano Shrimp or MTS or an apple snail in my 20 long, is it now impossible since I had dosed Coppersafe? I've read that copper can still come out of the seals for a long time.

i put 8 pennies in my filter to get rid of my ramshorn snails. the pennies stayed in my filter for about 2.5 months, after which i took them out, and within 2 weeks i was able to keep mts in my 10g again. not only that, but some of the black worms which have been in my gravel for about 2 years () came back after i took the pennies out as well. if you have some mts or some worms you can put in there to test it out, you might want to do that, but as long as you've done a few water changes you should be ok, IME

You could always buy a copper test kit.

As far as SW fish/inverts are concerned, I know its suggested to never use a tank that has had copper in it because even in incredibly small amounts it can kill them.

Well, I suppose I could get an MTS or two and try them out. I'm not so worried about MTS if they don't munch on plants. My tanks are still completely snail free after 2.5 years . Now I'm thinking of introducing them to keep the substrate stirred and to eat dead plant material.
