I have witnessed it cleaning(eating from the glass)and the silk plants, but not an effective algae eater. The ones that I have are mostly bottom scavengers My mystery usually crawls up on my large golden apple, he sleeps during the day usually on the back on the golden. When I put in lettuce or other veggies the snails take notice and go to town. If the BN wasn't in the picture the snails would definitley lose the war on algae. IN MY own experience, people claims to snail being large algae eaters are over-rated. I feel that they help eliminate extra food from the bottom, but my cichlids also loving digging though the substrate. I like the snails, keeps the tank feeling more natural. |
