Hey everyone, I was just wondering what type of snails these are, I dont mind them they only come out when the lights are off I see them clining to my Java Fern and DW, there acctually pretty cool heres the pic....

It looks so clean!
Those serpae tetras sure stand out.
The snails you have are a common ramshorn type
pond snail, I believe they are planorbids or something similar to that.
If you dont overfeed, the population of them will stay
relatively small and stable, and they are quite effective against fresh growing algae.
If you feed a lot, you will have a huge increase in numbers.
Personally, I like these little guys, but make sure they dont get enough food to reach huge numbers, they usually hang around a stable 30 or so snails in my 10g tank.

If your gonna have pest snails ramshorns are probably the best ones. Depends on the exact species but some are great algae eaters and one of the least likely snails to nibble on plants. I purposely added fancy ramshorns which are bright red and blue to my tank. They can multiply out of control if your not careful but so long as you don't overfeed and keep the tank fairly clean they aren't really a bad snail to have around. Also one of the most sensitive snails to salt if you ever want to kill them off.
