I am getting a bunch of MTS tomorrow and I was just wondering how I needed to go about acclimating them. Is it the same as fish or is there some trick? TIA
Jen

Hi, some people suggest to just dump them in, but I like to take the time to float the bag and let the temp adjust.

snails are pretty resilient creatures. if you want to be perfectly safe, there's nothing wrong with floating the bag, but i just drop em in.

drop em in. any that die from the shock merely eliminates the unhardy from your breeding stock. even if only several survive, their resulting offspring will be giving you ulcers within a very short period.

I normally just pop em in. They are hardy and will experience minimal shock from just being popted in. If you want to be safe you can float them in a bag .

I would float them.... No use in stressing the poor creatures if you don't have to.

yeah, but don't most snails regulate their own temps inside their shells? so floating them really won't do much, although it wouldn't hurt either they'll come out when they feel ready no matter which way you do it.
