apple snail temp | |
amico Hobbyist Posts: 112 Kudos: 138 Votes: 4 Registered: 05-Jan-2005 | i am getting an apple snail and was wondering if i dhould lower the temp in the tank a little because i noticed that they are in the same tanks as the goldfish and are un heated should i lower the temp or will they be ok if i jsut let the bag float in the tank for a while to get them acostumed |

Georgia Hobbyist Posts: 137 Kudos: 108 Votes: 3 Registered: 18-Feb-2005 | Yep, moondog's right. Temperature changes and differing water paramaters don't really phase them. To be safe, you can take them out of the water they're in and let them have a few minutes of "air time", then put them into the tank. Regarding what temp they should be kept at, they're also very tolerant. I wouldn't keep them with goldfish, since they're a bit nippy in general. But, an unheated tank is okay. They're more active at higher temps, but generally don't live as long. |
