my blackworms have eaten one of my ghost shrimp when it was in the middle of a molt still eating it actually what is the "normal" diet of blackworms? and yes, i know the shrimp is being eaten because i can see the worms crawling around inside its shell

I looked them up on several sites, and it doesn't seem that they are truly carnivorous. They are opportunistic eaters, and will eat decomposing materials, sinking fish foods, and anything soft enough for them. I guess they're eating your ghost shrimp because its exoskeleton hasn't had time to harden after its molt, and the worms discovered that it was soft and tasty. Those mean worms!

it was in the middle of a molt when they got inside it so it was laying there "dead" about to molt and the worms got inside it somehow and took over

thats pretty creepy.

yeah, opportunistic is right, they would eat anything.

Just make sure they don't eat the fry...
Seriously, I don't know if they'd be up to that, but you might want to watch carefully the first few days. Unless you're supposed to feed blackworms to the fry?

no, the shrimp was in a molt at the time and immobile so it couldn't move until it was done molting

Yeech! I'm more worried they'll eat the bristlenose eggs, rather than the fry! However, I checked this morning. Must have had hungry adult bristlenoses munch them up first! Or very defencive adults who looked into the blackworms' beady eyes and knew they were trouble!
