johnsfish1984  Hobbyist Posts: 77 Kudos: 68 Votes: 4 Registered: 20-Jun-2005   | i have a blue lobster and i am having trouble finding info on them im told he will feed himself on left overs of my other fish! well im sorry but my oscar dont leave left overs  after a breakfast of meal worms for my oscar i decided to give my lobster one and he ate like he hadent eaten for a month  is there a food designed just for lobsters and crayfish which will get a chance to hit the bottom befor my hungry oscar gets hold of it? my lobster is that desparate for food he has been pinching my plecos algi wafers which im told they dont normaly eat sugestions plz! thanks |

They aren't strictly carnivourous, so try some fresh or frozen veggies. Using a turkey baster or piece of piping to get frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms down to the bottom is also a good idea  I would keep a close eye on your setup though. Oscars have a habit of eating crays, and crays aren't shy when it comes to nipping as oscars. |

| johnsfish1984 Hobbyist Posts: 77 Kudos: 68 Votes: 4 Registered: 20-Jun-2005 | yeh my brother has a 10" oscar and a 6" bluelobster in one of his tanks and i have seen the lobster kick its fishy behind loads of times he grabs the oscar by the tail and pulls it down to the gravel!! im told that the only time the lobster will be in danger of being eaten is when he sheds but he has a nice bell to hide in and non of his other tank mates dare go near it coz they get put right back in there place!! arent fish cool! |

I wouldn't take the stress of wondering if I was going to rise in the morning to the scene of a great battle. I would have to make a choice. One or the other.
