Will crayfish eat applesnails? I have 2 little 1" crayfish. Right now they are in the tank with the baby applesnails and mostly seem interested in picking through the clover. What exactly do they eat? I gave them some shrimp pellet and both just went around it picking through the gravel. I do have crab and lobster bites as well as sinking algae wafers and spirulina pellets. The tank does have alot of uneaten food from feeding the baby snails which has caused a bit of planaria and daphnia to show up. The water parameters are good and I do stir the gravel it's just hard to vac it without sucking all the snails up.

if they are wild-caught, the probably don't recognise the pelleted food as dinner. try something wiggly or frozen, loke bloodworms or brine shrimp. The thrill of the hunt should get them interested.

They ate some frozen bloodworms it's all I had and then freeze dried bloodworms. Then freeze dried krill and a few fish flakes. They seem to be expanding their diet now but aren't the least bit interested in my applesnails. I did read full grown crayfish eat snails but I guess my applesnails aren't on the menu of baby crays. Right now they are smaller than my ghost shrimp.
