I'm fishless cycling a tank for my girlfriend's mom, and right now the nitrite is at its peak (about 2 ppm) and she (girlfriend's mom) keeps complaining about fish. Well its starting to have an algae problem (they were leaving the lights on all day and night ![]() |

Shrimp need absolutely excellent water quality and I would not add them to a cycling tank. Why are they leaving the lights on? The lights should be on a maximum of 10 hours a day. In fact, the fish or shrimp or snails that eventually reside in the tank will not appreciate 24 hours of light either. |

Anyway, we solved the problem and there are now fishies in there ![]() T'anks Sunflower Girl |
