You haven't been dumping toxic waste in your tank have you?
I've never seen a dead ghost shrimp in my tank but I have such a big cleanup crew I never saw that 7" farlowella when it died. Things just dissapear.

no toxic here

the fish and plants are all healthy. but lastnight when my room was dark, and the white glowing stuff just caught my eye, i turned the lights on and it was that ghost shrimp dead...

i rarely see ghost shrimps bodies, because they are usually eaten... i dont know why either....

By glow in the dark do you mean pink ?
Shrimp will turn bright pink/orange when they die. I think this is caused by an enzyme they release upon death.

I suppose it could glow somewhat...

what colour was it glowing? green? white? pink?

Thats pretty weird for it to occur after death. There are marine shrimp and lobsters, not to mention some species of terrestrial scorpion that will glow under uv light. Maybe some remineralisation or breakdown caused by bacteria increased the light refractive potential of the the surface of, or layers within the exoskeleton. Sometimes oils and amino acids can change during decomposition to create refractive surfaces that could potentially reflect uv light.Any oily surface will reflect at least part of the blue-purple uv spectrum usually invisible in part of the blue spectrum, rather like it does in pearlescent shells when sandwiched between calcites and keratin, and certainlty the exoskeleton of a shrimp contains much of the same material, but ive never heard of it happening after death though. Weird.

Well, 'cause it's a ghost. Ghosts always glow in the dark. Eeeeeek there goes one now!

its not reflecting any lights, the room was completely dark, and i walked in, shut the door, and saw something glowing in my tank, so i got closer, and saw something on the gravel glowing white, so i turn on the lights, and there it was, the ghost
