Most snails won't cause any problems with any fish... usually they are just out for the plants if anything.

Don't know about frogs, depends on the species I guess.

It would be fine to mix african dwarf frog with your fish. Land frogs or frogs that require some land to live wont be able to go into your aquarium. Snails almost impossible to kill they do fine in most tanks.

the most common aqua frog is the african dwarf frog which only gets 2.5" but if its a clawed frog he will eat your fish and gets about 5".

ive seen a black mystery snails eat fish, so i dont think there just out for the plants.

African dwarf frogs make great choices for most community tanks. They're adorable, stay small, and will not eat your fish. They are also very hardy; IME the hardest part of keeping them is making sure they get adequate nutrition. In the past mine have been picky eaters...
African clawed frogs get to be about the size of a softball, and WILL eat other smaller fish. Hence the name African CLAWED frog.
Snails: Well, some of them can be pretty neat. You just gotta watch out for breeding, since they breed like rabbits. Some snails can get rather big too, do your research before you buy. I've seen blue apple snails with great color. There's also purple ones, and golden ones.

I've never seen a BM snail eat a fish.

*takes a minute to think*

Is this 30 gallon tank home to fish, or will it just be inverts or amphibians???

EDIT: Ahh, ottos and albino cories. Okay, in that case, I'd go with several ADFs, because the ottos and cories are basically algae eaters and clean up crews, so there would really be no need for a snail. But since snails love to breed, you could just get one "centerpiece" snail, and still have the froggies.

HTH!!!

Don't add snails to the tank with ADF's. Mine kept picking at my apple snails, the snails couldn't get back in their shells fast enough. I've also tried ADF's with bamboo shrimp. It didn't work either.

Big old apple snails look cool and even though snails are slow and docile they can still surprise you with a bit of personality once in a while.

The only time you have worry about snail eating or attacking fish is if the fish is dead.

Snails dont eat fish its really not possible for them to catch a fish. I'm 99.9% sure the fish you saw the snail ate was . They are scavengers and will eat most fish shrimp food etc etc.
