i have a large ghost shrimp that has been carrying fry for a few weeks, they look very mature now, how can i assure the frys' safety? i removed her to a 1 gallon critter keeper with a plant for now

im pretty sure, she releases the babies when they are ready. and they are just miniature adults. they eat algae etc, and maybe some powdered up fish food. to ensure safety is to take out everything, even the mother when she releases them.

she has started to release them i saw 2-3 they are so tiny i put in some letace leaves for them to promote infurisa, she still has a few left, i wonderif there are more fry in the 29 gallon:%) i had 2 other females ready to give birth, but they did it in the tank, ans i just took out all the water to transport it up stairs (well not all the water, the substrait was left with 1in of water... do u think maybe some survived? how long does it take for them to grow? how can i incourage them to breed again? i hav 3 females and a male, thanks

Sorry to hear you lost the babies.
At least you know you have a mature pair of shrimp,
so you'll get them again...

I have't bred mine yet.. But there is something better for your baby shrimp as far as infusoria and hiding spot, JAVA MOSS.

what type of shrimp do you have?

the typical ghost shrimps from lfs for feeding are mostly pregnant already
