has anyone heard of a chem called "had-a-snail" its meant to work great against getting rid of snails. The only thing is that i have two dwarf frogs that im worried it would hurt too. i would put them in the ten gal on a temp basis, however, i dont know how long it would have to be or if i would be able to bring them back.

I don't think it's that good, as i once used it & i still have snails in my tanks. Just remember that snails are pests & survive nearly everything. You can reduce them, but i don't think you can eliminate them all. If you use it, make sure to read the lable well, as some chemicals will also kill plants & other creatures.

Have you tried doing anything else to get rid of the snails? Depending on the size of your tank and current stock loaches do a great job, even some of the smaller species. Just remember they should be kept in groups of at least 3.

Putting lettuce in the tank overnight will attract the snails then you can get rid of them in the morning. I've also found that they like cucumber and zucchini.

Try looking on the glass for eggs. In my experience they look like small dots inside of a small round or oval bubble.

Sorry I don't have any advice about Had-A-Snail, I personally try to stay away from chemicals.

Even if it did work you'd have lots of dead snails rotting in the tank which means if the chemicals don't kill the adf the ammonia spike will. Just rinsing anything in water won't make a difference with snails. You'll need to dip everything in a solution of bleach, alum, or similar.
