My friend gave me a snail, but i dont know what kind it is, iv looked up some kind, it it looks alot like the apple snails, and the mystery snails.

How do I tell which one it is??

The snail is like a white/yellow color (the shell, and the snail) and it has like a brown "trap door" thing.

Mystery and applesnail is the same thing. Stores just labelled them as mystery snails not knowing what they were and it stuck. Applesnails have a trapdoor and a breathing syphon. If your snail goes up to the top on occasion and stick up a long tube then it's definitely an applesnail. Usually the snails sold as gold mystery with gold shells and white bodies are cana applesnails which get rather large. Sometimes bigger than your hand. They also love plants and prefer to get fed vegetables like cucumber or lettuce. The other snail it's likely to be is a bridgessi which like meaty fish foods and only get 2". These won't eat plants and prefer things like shrimp pellets to veggies but won't turn down nibbling a nice slice of cucumber.
