Most invertibrate will do fine but this depenses on the fish and/or amphibians you discide to put in there. There are some brackish water crabs that you could try if you are willing to go brackish. I think there somewhat like a fidler crab and most Petsmarts have them.

Also, if you look on AquaBid.com they usually have some awesome crayfish on there.

If you want full water, Machrobrachium shrimp would have a ball

Try for M. australiense over M. rosenbergi, as it is smaller.

Any of the 'yabbies' will fit in a 20 comfortably A male red claw would be awesome!

What about a bunch of hermit crabs? they seem to do really well with that setup at one of the larger pet stores in my area.

Fiddlers would be very fun I've often seen them in setups with mudskippers, don't know if that is a viable option in a 20, but Shinigami should be able to tell you

If you want, it might be worth ducking over to marine and asking what esturine critters they could suggest for a 1/2 and 1/2 type setup. Maybe there are some that are rarely kept that might suit you down to the ground.
