I have read about them but I havent gotten a good picture of them yet. if anyone has one Id appreciate pictures of this creature also some additional information on them.... like do they reproduce as much as snails. also the availibility of these in wisconsin |

Do a google search for "freshwater limpet" to see some pictures. There are also some on www.applesnail.net They are a species of snail, so they do reproduce like snails But, they don't lay eggs from what I've seen, so they may be vivaparus. When overfed, they can overpopulate a tank. But, I rarely see more than a few at any one time. They don't harm plants or fish. |
