10 gallon stocking options | |
fishfool35 Fingerling Posts: 46 Votes: 1 Registered: 23-Aug-2004 | I have a 10 gallon tank that currently houses 1 blue gouramie. He didn't get along with another male gouramie in a 40 gallon tank, so now he's alone in the 10 gal. I was thinking about adding 3 cherry barbs to the tank. There are several plants and 1 piece of driftwood. What do you all think? If not the 3 cherry barbs, what other options? Thanks in advance! |

They can grow to at least five inches, which is too large for your tank. If you replace if with a dwarf gourami (much more peaceful than the blues, anyways), you could keep two pairs of cherry barbs, or a school of tetras, a dwarf pleco, etc. It all hinges on whether you are able to get rid of that one larger gourami. |

As you've already seen, they can be agressive, even with other fish. The profile [link=here]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/bluegourami.xm So if you can do that and still want a gourami, go with a dwarf, honey, or sparkling gouramis. Cherry barbs do well in pairs so you could probably add four total. Good luck ~~~~ [/font] ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |
