They are the sweetest things. I went to our local aquarium society meeting and a woman who breeds bettas had a whole 50 gallon full of female bettas, they are all small yet but I came home with 10 Hopefully I can get some pics in the next couple of days.
All different colours and there is one tiny little cream girl with red fins that I just fell in love with. She is so small and sweet, I called her Daisy. That puts me up to 34 bettas now... someone slap my hands and keep me away from the lfs.

How exciting, I love bettas and in the past few months got hooked on females

I have one little pink-yellow girl that I got at my aquarium society fish auction, her name is Lily.

I also ordered two this weekend that hopefully will be delivered in the next few days. That would put me to 4 males, 6 females; still nowhere close to your 34!

Would love to see pics!

Missy, you have an addiction!

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Do you keep your male bettas in separate tanks? Right now I have a 20 gallon tank with 4 females.... And I should be receiving a couple of Crowntail males in the near future... I was planning to put one male in my 55 gal community tank and one in my 20 gal with the females.... Is this a wise move?

I just got my first two female bettas ever a couple days ago. I agree with you they are such great fish!!! Not as pretty as the males but they are so friendly (not to each other and each of their personalities was so distinct right from the first time I took them out of the shipping box. Couldn't recommend them more...except next time I'd like to get one from a community tank so I don't have to separate them.

My males are all in their own tanks, the females are all over, I have 6 in a 20 with ottos and a baby BN for now (they have always been together). I have 4 in a ten and the other 4 are kept separated as they are going to be bred.

WOW 34, I thought we were bad with having 10. I'm sure that when we figure out were to put more, we'll get more.

Light-Bright how many tanks have you got? Must have heaps! Ges I can just imagine the water changes/ tests.

dreamweaver8891 I wouldn't advise in leaving the male in with the females. In my experience only, my 8 females turned on the male. One grab his tail and wouldn't let go. He ended up toeing her around the tank, trying to shake her off. Unfortunately the stress done him in. He died about a week later on. He never got over it.

LB has lots of tanks for her bettas, trust me I've seen them. I have a measly three male bettas, all housed in their own self-contained units.

34! Yeah I'd call that an addiction. How much food do you go through?
