15 gal Betta companions. | |
Ferox Enthusiast Posts: 219 Kudos: 187 Votes: 28 Registered: 19-Dec-2003 | I have a filtered, heated 15 gal with one male betta in there. I was wondering if i can put anything in there to live with him. Suggestions other threads like this have had are cories, platys and mollies. Would these work? Thanks!(not sure if this should be in the other forum or not) <Vet in Training> Blog under development: http://www.nearlydrferox.blogging4life.com/ |

Just don't put in fish with long, flowing tails, as the betta will be liable to attack them. Cories would be a great choice, be sure to get six of them to form a school! |

They are cleaner than platies and mollies and will leave the betta alone...and the betta will leave them alone too. cories are good too. I would recommend 5-6 white clouds and 3 small bronze cories. ~*~ Caviar? no thanks! ~*~ |

Just have a tank or bowl ready just in case you have to take him out. Each betta has their own little personality and some just are too aggressive for tankmates. ___________________________________________ If at first you DO succeed, try not to look astonished. |

Two of them have lived in there with a CAE without trouble, so I don't think the corys will be bothered. Could I put a few platys or a molly in there too? At the moment I'm thinking: 1 betta 4-5 bronze corys 3 platies or 1 molly <Vet in Training> Blog under development: http://www.nearlydrferox.blogging4life.com/ |
