I have a filtered, heated 15 gal with one male betta in there. I was wondering if i can put anything in there to live with him. Suggestions other threads like this have had are cories, platys and mollies. Would these work?

Thanks!(not sure if this should be in the other forum or not)

Yes, other fish can go in with the betta, as long as he doesn't have any severe personality flaws. Just don't put in fish with long, flowing tails, as the betta will be liable to attack them. Cories would be a great choice, be sure to get six of them to form a school!

I personally recommend white cloud minnows. They are cleaner than platies and mollies and will leave the betta alone...and the betta will leave them alone too. cories are good too. I would recommend 5-6 white clouds and 3 small bronze cories.

You can have 4 Corydoras with your Betta.

I don't really want white clouds as i have them in other tanks. I'll look into corys I think. Thanks!

I have kept platys and cories with a male betta. Just have a tank or bowl ready just in case you have to take him out. Each betta has their own little personality and some just are too aggressive for tankmates.

Thanks for the advice. I've got 3 males and any one of them can go in the tank. Two of them have lived in there with a CAE without trouble, so I don't think the corys will be bothered. Could I put a few platys or a molly in there too?

At the moment I'm thinking:
1 betta
4-5 bronze corys
3 platies or 1 molly
