Well today I went to my LFS because I wanted a male betta. They had 1 red one, but he look all batter and not doing to good, so I passed, plus there were some dead fish in that tank so you can't be to careful. But then I saw these beautiful betta girls, and I had to get 2 pf them. oOne is nice purple wash, with hints of blue. The other is a dark body, with cream latural markings and a blue dorsal fin !!

They're settling in nicely, and theres been no fighting or chasing, which is good.

Now all I need are names for these two lovely ladies. Any suggestoins would be grateful !!

P.S. I may go get the male at a later date and have him in his own 3 gallon bowl, which would be cool !

Congratulations with the two new girls I was good today and didn't get any bettasthough I did look at them

I usually wait for the bettas to do something that names them, for themselves...ie. Psycho, jumped out of the breeding net on her second day in the tank:%)

Are you sure those "cream lateral markings" aren't just a Betta gals' stripes? Females get horizontal stripes when they are stressed, and vertical ones when they are happy or ready to mate ^_~

No it doesn't its just their colouring. A colourful fish is a happy fish, not a stressed fish !
