I was reading on some Betta list last night on how Bettas like to be entertained and they gave a few suggestions like placing a ping pong ball in the water so the Betta will have something to play with.
I thought, yeah.. Ok!

After some thought I figured why not see what happens but I didnt have a ping pong ball. I did however have a lil plastic ball from a boardgame so I cleaned it and let it float in the betta tank. Wouldnt you know that the Betta spent the entire day entertaining himself with that ball?

He would swim around it, then puff and charge it and push it and he just had a great time.

So, am wondering if you all know any other fun things to keep bettas stimulated.

Thanks..

The site said to that moving their decor and plants around on water change day gives them activity as well.

My lil guy is really happy. He is making a huge bubble nest and according to the web when the male betta makes a nest it means he is happy and healthy.

Cool Fish.. I am gonna get another one soon. Of couse I will need another tank.. Oh, what the heck.. LOL

Make sure you change 'toys' regularly get a rotation going

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

I just figured this out and its pretty cool.

I have a laser pointer I use as a toy for my cats. Well, I accidently shined the beam on the wall near the betta tank and guess what? The Betta follows the beam! I ran the beam up and down the wall and he went up and down following the beam. He got all excited and would flare and he was just havin a good time. How weird is that? If you have a laser pointer then try it. Dont shine the beam at the fish though! I dont shine it in the tank at all. Just the wall next to the tank.
