Betta Euthanasia | |
jester_fu Big Fish Posts: 395 Kudos: 522 Votes: 12 Registered: 26-Jan-2004 | Hi all... I have sad news about my GF's betta "Mr Wong". After 12 happy months in our 'family', Mr Wong contract what appear initially to be constipation. I tried epsom salts and pea's, but nothing work. He then got the signs of swim bladder, and finally started to look like he had dropsy along with poor swiming and obvious trouble breathing. So, last night we said good bye and i gave him a final swim in glove oil laced water. Then into the freezer. I'm pretty sad about this, as is my GF, as is this the first fish we have lost since my original troubles with Moorii. Just thought i'd cry on the FishProfiles sholder. Thanks |

It is hard not to get attached to a fish that shows excitment when you are near, and will flare and dance for your enjoyment...also for that extra treat. |

We've burried him in the garden near a nice flower... so he will not be forgotten. I'm hoping in a week or two she'll want to try again with another betta, as i kind of miss him swimming around in the tank next to our TV. |
