Maddeningdream,
I believe I have read that if they aren't kept in larger numbers then they get a little nippy, but since you will have a good size group maybe it would work. I would just hope they stay interested in themselves and not your betta!

personally my white skirt tetra are fin nippers.

But from the betta side, it is up to that betta. They are all different and like people, they have different personallities. Some bettas are more mild and others are more aggressive. So some may attack the BS and others will live with the BS.

So no, their arent really any "Standard" compataillity charts out there.4 bettas.

If you are going to try that, I'd lean towards a fancy plakat rather than a longfin. They look less tasty and tend to be more capable swimmers if they need to leave the area.

Generally speaking, I wouldn't suggest the "flat" tetra species as tankmates for bettas as they can be a bit more nippy than their bullet-shaped cousins.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett
