Hi guys,

I haven't been around much lately but I think I'll be back to poking my nose in once in a while

I just wanted to come by and invite everyone here to look at, and sign if you will please, a petition. The details are explained better at the site but to give you a brief summary:

The purpose of the petition is to prove that a vast number of betta enthusiasts are fed up with horrible conditions bettas are put in.

Please come by and add your digital signature if you agree and will support me in this self-appointed mission I've apparently put myself on

I thought I'd spare repeating the information, as it is all at the petition, but I will be glad to share since you asked.

I am going to take this plea to everyone I can manage to, by myself: mass suppliers who sell bettas in the really small cups, trying to get larger cups.... store managers, as a plea for them to change the fish water often enough... hopefully also larger organizations who can help push this idea to larger chains, etc.

The rest of the purpose of this petition is to give anyone else willing the ideas and purpose that they need in order to work at accomplishing the same goals in their communities, as well. An individual can only do so much, but together we could all make changes where they matter.

I don't think bettas should be kept in those tiny cups, but they aren't in there really long(they sell very fast). If the stores, suppliers, breeders, ect., start using larger cups for every single betta can you imagine the extra cost involved. It would definitly cause betta prices to rise. Do you want to pay double the money for a betta? I don't! Sorry.

Many stores already supply their fish in the larger cups and the cost has not changed at all.

You may not visit as many pet and fish stores as I do on average. You may not see the horrid conditions but I see it all over the place. It's sickening. If your store(s) sell them quickly, that's great, I wish they all did. Sadly they do not and the fish need their water changed while they're there to prevent their deaths.
