I always use Betta Water Conditioner when I change the water in my betta tanks, and Aquasafe in my aquariums. The betta conditioner seems to cost a lot more to do the same thing. Is there something about it that makes it special for bettas, or is it just a a marketing ploy? Would the aquasafe be just as good for them?

They're both terribly expensive - your best bet is to run out while it's still pond season and get some pond chlorine remover. A $10 bottle will treat about 10,000 gallons. How's that for a price break, eh? A drop'll do it for any betta bowl, and a few drops or a small squirt for a tank.

Wow! Is that what you use in all your tanks? With the number of bettas I have, a once a week water change for them costs me about $5 a week using betta water conditioner. What a racket!

I know, it's sad! In fact, almost all the pond products are at least 10x cheaper, so if there's something you're using that's marketed for ponds, you might want to try that instead. I've saved a lot by switching to pond conditioner. (In a similar vein, the expensive "rat and mouse food"? It's hamster food, but twice as expensive!)

Thanks, LittleMousling! I've often wondered if the pond conditioners would be ok in an aquarium. Now I'll have no need to skimp on using this stuff for every water change.
