Just got a new betta but it doesn't seem to be interested in diplaying for a picture... I placed it in the presence of other bettas and no luck...Any advice or do some bettas just don't do it??

One of my bettas doesn't flare at another betta or its reflection either. Since you just got it, give it a few days to settle into its new fishy home and than maybe it'll feel more comfortable.

Yeah, just let him/her settle in. The betta has just gone through the stress of adjusting to new water parameters and possibly a temperature change.

I got a new betta yesterday and he's very active and healthy but won't flare. They just need time to acclimatise.

She meant that the betta won't display so that she could take a picture.

As they've said, "Give it some time", and a mirror on the side of the tank helps

Have you tried mirrors nd getting him a tad 'riled up' before you start?

They have to be reasonably healthy to flare, otherwise its not worth the effort to them.

I have one that is rather uninterested (the orange one) and it takes a lot of prompting to get him going

This might be useful

If he's new he may still be adjusting to his home. You can try a mirror, but it doesn't work with all bettas. You might just have an easy-going fish.
