In the above picture, her "cheek" should be magenta, not that pale color.

Below, I've got an arrow pointing to the point where I could previously tell it was inflamed, the spot between her gills. It's a bit worse now, or perhaps just more prominent because of the swelling/discoloration of her cheek.

I've dosed with Mararcyn 1 & 2. She doesn't seem to want to eat, but then, I don't know how well she can open her mouth to eat with that swollen cheek. You can see how she sort of floats at the top of the water, so she can breathe easily.

Ack! She's been in the corner since I removed her to QT and it wasn't until I moved her around a bit (gotta love it when your fish let you move them around!) that I could tell that one of her "cheeks" is swollen and white-ish as compared to the magenta it should be. Sigh.

Almost looks like the same sort of thing that happened to two of my other betta girls when they were chased into the gravel by another aggressive female... they wound up with the fishy equivalent of a black eye: puffy "cheek" and pop eye. (Yes, the offender was remover.)

Got a picture from above, and now you can see a bit of swelling. It's not a very good picture, but you can see the pineconing. Do you want a picture from the side, as well? Besides the pineconing and a bit of bloating, there's really not much else different. Oh, but the bit under her chin. Let me see if I can run and get more pics.

It is much easier to tell with pictures, but it may just be aggitation. Has there been any sign of a bacterial or fungal infection? It is very sketchy as to what brings on this disease.

Pretty much what I figured, but thought I'd ask anyway. Far as I can tell, there's no bloating thusfar, just the raised scales. I'll run out and get the meds, then begin dosing right away. Not sure that I've seen Kanacyn around, but I know where I can get both maracyns.

Edit: Oh... I noticed that right under her "chin", the place between the gills seems swollen. Just a tiny little bit, but noticeable. Does this indicate anything? That's the only part of her that really looks swollen at all.
