Hi i was just wondering If my Betta would be ok in my tank with:

1 x Angel Fish
1 x Black Ghost
1 x Silver Shark
1 x Pictus Catfish

Can you help?

My betta has a spikey tail that is quite large do you know what type it is?
Also does anybody have an idea on the price of a Half moon and a Butterfly.

thanks

You found a good one! It's a Crowntail... These are impossible to find in my area! I have one, "Torch" --- but I bought him off of eBay.... Congratulations on your find!

Yeah i got him from a local aquarium and my friend got one too!!! They cost about $9AU round $5US The guy tried to sell me a butterfly for $50AU how much do you think they're worth? He had a Spike Tail/ Half moon for $40AU

So do you think he can go in my tank?

I don't know about the rest of your fish, but the Angel & Betta combo could spell T R O U B L E... Kind of depends on their personalities --- especially if the Angel is not full grown yet.... I've had some Angels get along with one male Betta, while others I've had did not.... Now Torch, my Crowntail is overly agressive in nature -- and I wouldn't even consider putting him in a community tank of any kind!
Your best bet is to wait until someone can fill you in on the rest of your fish --- and then make the decision on where he'll live.....

What size tank is it?

The Silver shark gets 14 inches long, and is a schooling fish. They should be kept in tanks at least 6 feet long since they can be skittish and need room to swim.

The pictus would make short work of a betta, I think. The long fins would slow down a betta, and when the pictus gets large enough, it'll eat the betta.

The angel has long fins that would remind the betta of another male. This could lead to major fin tearing and fighting.

Bettas are notorious for getting sick at the smallest chance. They take and reason to fall ill and run with it. They also don't like the currents that are in most fish tanks, since they have the long fins that make it hard for them to swim.

Overall, I think it would be a much better choice to have the betta in his own 1 gallon-minimum bowl/tank.

EDIT: I forgot the BGK. They get about 20 inches long. Enough said.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

Its ok I tried it out and the first thing my Black Ghost went for was the fighter I took him straight out and put him in my fighter tank where he'll spend the rest of his days

Thanks for your advice

and for reference, a spike tail/hm doesnt actually exist (well, its not a recognised tail type and the ones they are selling as spiketail/hms look nothing like either ).

they are deltas, and probably a nice one would be about $30.

the unusual names are marketing from one of the big fish supply places, Bayfish.

congrats on your crown

If you are after some more unusual ones, let me know there are a few spawns due up for sale around Xmas time at least one or 2 are bound to be butterflies
