You can place him in a heated room for the winter or else buy a small 50W heater. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

There are a couple of options as far as heaters go, and my bettas have heaters year round in their 2.5 gallon aquariums, as bettas prefer warmer temperatures. There are 25 watt heaters that are acceptable, but a more perfect option is a mini heater like [link=this]http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=12087&N=2004+22787" style="COLOR: #FFFFFF[/link] one. A small heater like that, a sponge filter, and then add some gravel, and perhaps a couple of fake plants (I would suggest silk over plastic, as plastic ones can injure them pretty easily), and your betta will be one very happy boy. Good luck with him, and please don't throw him in with the cichlids, unless you want your new friend to be a handy snack. |
