my bettas aren't in contest condition atm

Okay, If u were wanting to judge, then pm or email me. I am not ready for entries yet. I think the contest will start on the 15th of september. Entries can be subitted to my email or u can post the pics on the web, but not on this site, so as not to show anyone your betta because I am trying to prevent bias.

I think that is a great idea - I'd be interested even though my bettas are by no means show bettas

They don't have to be awe-inspiring to win at least their class. Also, the bettas you submit MUST BE YOURS!!! If I find out that you used someone else's betta or stole the image, then I will disqualify you and inform the person you stole the image from!

Should deltas, super deltas etc. be included in the half-moon category? Just that a delta, no matter how beautiful, usually couldn't compete against a full HM. I'd suggest making just one more category for the deltas and super-deltas, and double-tails as well if you wanted.

Okay, Now that the new forum is up and we are taking off at a run, I have decided to have a betta of the month contest. Each catagorie will have both male and female as they apply.

3 Catagories:
1. Veil Tail
2. HM (this includes delta, SD, and DT)
3. Crowntails

There will be 1 finalist from each catagorie and from there we will crown a male and female betta of the month that is chosen from all of the catagories. If anyone is interested in being a judge, then send an email to Daniel@FishProfiles.com ! I probably will use the IBC standards for the judges to use to find the best betta from each catagorie. From there, the judges and I will vote on the best male and female from all of the groups.

Note: Just because your betta isnt a HM doesn't mean that you can't win!!!

Ummm yeah. Ontariobetta and myself have way more than 4.

Only 1 commercial breeder (like shannen just bought) can be entered per month. Also, once a betta has won the competition for their catagory or the overall, it can not be submitted again for 3 months, and it must be a new current picture.

So does this mean you will only take 1 commercial breeder per month total or we all can only enter 1 per month?

Each person can enter 1 per month. If there are enough commercial breeders, then I will open a new catagorie for that, but not allow it to compete against the other 3 catagories.

The only problem I see with this rule is, what about fish from my spawns? As the parents are of commercial quality so will be the babies.

If you personally breed them, and do not intend to sell the majority of them for a commercial profit of some kind, then I will allow the fry.

I forgot plakats!!!! They are a fourth catagory. This entails all plakats. They can be hm plakats and all, but they will all be in the plakat group.
