Hello all...

Usually when I go out of town for a week I take my betta to a friends for his own little vacation. This time though he has to stay here by himself.

With my 20gal community tank I just change the water, feed them good, and leave the light off. They always do great... as a matter a fact the water is always clearer.

Would this be an ok strategy for my betta?

Do you have any Plants with your Betta?.
I think that a week would be Ok for him.

A week for a betta will be fine.

The stress of taking him or risking having a friend improperly feed him is likely worse. Just feed before leaving, and make sure a water change is done right away when you come back.

in fact he would be better, in his tank by himself, the chances of losing him, increase while he is in the community tank.

i think he would be fine being in a comunity tank with other fish that way he wont get lony i think it would be better than taking them to a friends house
i have a friend close bye and she is like a betta care taker and she has other fish to i think every one knows her shes fishyhelper so i would trust her with my fish eny day but i think everyones right u wouldent want someone to take care of your fish expecaly if they are unxsperinced with fish
